This bird house starts with a natural gourd about fourteen inches high counting the stem, and about 8 inches wide at the base. After cleaning out the inside, a one and a half inch hole is drilled for the birds. The gourd is painted with acrylic paints and embellished with paint pens. A protective poly acrylic coating is applied to the birdhouse. It is best displayed by hanging.
